We are sorry to be writing to inform everyone that our Management Committee has made the decision that RODA will cease its support activities at the end of December 2011 and that RODA will be closing its office early in 2012. This decision has been taken as a result of the funding difficulties that RODA presently faces, along with many other organisations in the voluntary sector. Our present funding with the Sheffield Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) ends at the end of November and I am afraid we have been unable to establish a continuation of suitable funding, once that contract runs out. RODA has been in operation for over 16 years in the Sheffield area and we are very proud of the work that we have done with and for families affected by substance misuse. RODA has provided a unique and valued service which we know will be sadly missed, not only in the Sheffield area, but by many other local and national organisations with whom we have built lasting relationships over the years. Until the end of December RODA will be continuing with all present activities as advertised in our newsletter and on our website (www.roda.org.uk). Throughout January our telephone lines will still be open, but as you can appreciate, our services will be limited. May we take this opportunity to thank everyone who has given RODA their support and best wishes over the years and in particular over recent months. Read More »

“RODA is a boat that keeps us all afloat.”
"I was absolutely at my wits end. My daughter was using drugs and I didn’t know who to turn to. My GP referred me to RODA. I went and now I have more knowledge and understanding of drugs. After getting support I have been able to cope better. I realise that I can’t fix it. It’s like a learning curve, they are on a journey and so are we."
